Our new tohu
Designed by Nikki Kennedy of Taputapu Designs, our new tohu draws on the whakataukī “Nāu te rourou, nāku te rourou, ka ora ai te iwi” a powerful proverb that speaks to the power of koha as a means to sustaining our people. The interwoven harakeke throughout the kete represents the supportive ecosystem of our hāpori, and our interconnectedness through whakapapa.
Te Marae o IndigiShare
Our tohu also establishes a visual connection and relationship between IndigiShare’s products and services currently in development; Te Whare Manaaki our Koha Loan platform for pakihi Māori, and Te Waharoa, our reciprocal payment gateway.
Te Whare Manaaki
Te Whare Manaaki is IndigiShare’s koha loan platform that breaks down barriers to entry for indigenous businesses, and enables entrepreneurship within our communities.
Funding is made available by a range of Koha Lenders to support Māori entrepreneurs, start-ups and SMEs, with a focus on social impact. This funding can be the catalyst for pakihi Māori to start, pivot or thrive, and when repaid, is passed forward to the next generation of entrepreneurs, creating intergenerational welfare and wellbeing.
Te Waharoa
Te Waharoa is IndigiShare’s reciprocal payment gateway, offering an alternative method of contactless payment for in-store purchases with transaction fees redistributed back to the community – creating a koha-centered circular flow of capital.
Traditional Eftpos and credit card systems require small businesses to pay hefty transaction fees to big banking conglomerates. With Te Waharoa, pakihi can offer an alternative method of payment that redistributes these fees back to our community at a lower rate for the merchant and at no added cost for the customer.

We have also introduced a comprehensive pakihi support services directory that details organisations who offer funding, mentoring, and networking opportunities for pakihi Māori.
Future website development will also include pakihi education, tools, and resources to help pakihi get investment-ready.
